Day Tour from Marrakech to Essaouira
We will pick you up after breakfast at your riad around 09:00 AM and drive to Essaouira. This is the perfect day trip for sea lovers! The exciting coastal city of Essaouira, famous for its beautiful Skala Fortress, the Gnaoua Music Festival, and international windsurfing competitions, can be reached in less than 3 hours drive from Marrakech. Essaouira is renowned for its kitesurfing and windsurfing since the powerful trade winds blow almost constantly onto the protected, waveless bay. Essaouira, once known as Mogador, has experienced the influence of many civilizations, including a Portuguese occupation that shaped much of its architecture. It remains, however, a small village with a great history. Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantic” is also a center of argan oil production. It has become a tourist attraction due to the tree-climbing goats unique to the region, as argan trees are the only type the goats climb. With its animated port, colorful marketplace, and history of artists seeking inspiration, Essaouira is full of life, light, and magic! We suggest exploring the port, visiting the Fortress, eating a delicious seafood lunch, and then wandering the alleys to view the hundreds of handicrafts. We will deliver you back to Marrakech in the early evening, around 17:00.

Everything You Could Ever Want
We did the 3 day tour with Mustapha and Ali and it was all I could have ever asked for! There were 4 of us and we fit comfortably in the Toyota with AC. Mustapha was a very knowledgeable, funny tour guide with excellent English and Ali did a great job driving the long distance to and from the Sahara! Both were incredibly easy-going and eager to please during the entire trip. The stops were very historic and memorable. My favorite part by far was the night we spent in the desert with camel rides, sand boarding the dunes, and the nicest luxury tent-village I’ve ever seen. I’ve already recommended this tour to one friend and will continue to recommend it to family and friends!

My wife and I arranged a 10-day trip in Morocco with Trips to Morocco in January 2019. We’re experienced travelers and normally arrange our own trip without going through tour companies by reserving a rental car and booking lodging through Airbnb, etc. But we were a little intimidated by doing that in Morocco because the culture is so different. So, we booked a 10-day trip with “Trips” and we had an excellent trip. Mohammed provided us with a tour guide, Mhammed, and a driver, Zaid, both of whom spoke good English, who took us on a whirlwind tour throughout the country in a Mitsubishi SUV– Casablanca, Fez, Marrakesh, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Ouarazate, Errachidia, Meknes, the desert and more. Zaid and Mhammed were exceptionally kind and helpful. As the tour guide, Mhammed did most of the talking. He was knowledgeable about the history and culture of Morocco. He was thoughtful and articulate and had great sense of humor. A fun person to spend time with for 10 days. Zaid was an excellent, safe driver and very patient in some tough/congested driving conditions. In addition, “Trips” arranged for additional tour guides for walking tours through two of the more complicated and historic medinas– in Fez and Marrajesh. These guides were also excellent and took us away from the places tourists usually congregate and to some of the less-traveled and more interesting places and souks. They also took us to the desert for a camel trek and one night at a desert tent camp, Dunes Luxury Camp– and a fun night there sitting by the fire and banging on bongo drums with several local drummers. I had been skeptical about doing a camel trek, thinking it might be a little cheesy. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It was definitely worth doing, and the camp was clean and well-appointed. There were even electrical outlets in the tents for charging your phones, etc. And the surroundings were breathtaking. If you go there in the winter, dress warm. The nights are cold and, as you would expect, the tents have no heat. We will always remember this exciting and fun-filled trip. (FYI– don’t spend much time in Casablanca. We’re glad we went there only briefly to see the fabulous mosque, which was definitely worth seeing.)
